Golf Course Redevelopment

Residential development had increased dramatically surrounding this golf club that began operations in the 1960s in Greenville, South Carolina. The owners decided to close the course and redevelop the land with a residential subdivision. An investigation plan was developed to evaluate historical activities including restricted use pesticides, herbicides, and maintenance equipment. Upon completion, the findings were reviewed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) Division of Site Assessment Remediation and Revitalization and the project was able to proceed as planned.
